Do you feel like you’re still 35…even though you’re not? 😅
Wondering where the time goes? Like, how is it already the end of July? And why does it feel like January was yesterday?
Yep – me too.
This year I hit a milestone. The big 6-0. 🎉
(And I know a few of you are too… I won’t point fingers 😉)
If you’re like me, you might find yourself thinking:
👉 “Wasn’t I just 40?”
👉 “Why do college students look 12 now?”
👉 “Where did my 90s playlists go… oh right, they’re on classic hits radio stations now.” 😂
So, I’ve decided to celebrate. All year long. 💃🏼
It’s a recycled idea from my 49th and 50th birthdays – because let’s be honest, good ideas deserve a second (or third) run!
Back when I turned 49, I did 49-4-49. 49 fun activities and adventures for myself – Things like visit Wales for the first time, hike in Cornwall, volunteer to plant ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, visit the Greek Island of Paros and took a trapeze class.
Then came 50-4-50, which had me do 50 acts of kindness for other people between my 50th and 51st birthdays, because the year before had been about me. Examples were giving directions to people on the tube proactively, donating to a street musician, cooking for families at Ronald McDonald House, filling a large garbage bag with rubbish/garbage on my street, and acknowledging great service at the pharmacy.
So now, it’s time for…
✨ 60-for-60 ✨
60 fun things with others, for 12 months from my birthday the other month.
Some will be active – hello hiking boots! 🥾 Some social. Some cerebral. Some comforting, some that’ll stretch me.
What’s this got to do with leadership?
Everything.
Because leadership starts with leading yourself.
That’s why it’s the focus of the first two chapters in my book
“Soft Skills HARD RESULTS.”
Self-awareness. Self-management. Self-leadership.
It’s about being present – with self, others and the moment.
The last chapter of my book is called:
Live a Life of No Regrets.
This is me doing exactly that. One fun thing at a time. With people I care about. 💛
So, what about you?
Whether it’s 30, 40, 50 or 25 for 2025, whatever – just know:
You’re not alone.
You’re still becoming.
And the best chapters might still be ahead. 💫 If not now, when?
Take the lead in your own life.
If not you, who? No regrets. What would be on your list?
