Three of the world’s ‘greatest’ leaders

Everyone has a different definition of what a great leader is. Strong leadership traits often include honesty, good communication, commitment, positivity and many more. Good leaders, meanwhile, are easily identifiable and typically combine most of these characteristics.

Whether they’re executives, politicians, coaches or any other type of leader, they excel at what they do and achieve this through years of commitment and hard work.

Considering that, here are some examples of leaders who have risen to the top of their fields and inspired countless numbers of people whilst doing so:

Jeff Bezos

As the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos has been instrumental in taking the e-commerce company to the top. It is down to the entrepreneur’s vision and ambition that Amazon is not merely an online retailer but also an innovator in technology, cloud computing and many other fields.

Angela Merkel

The German Chancellor was named TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year in 2015 and it’s not difficult to see why. She has been a dominant figure in European politics for many years now and in 2015 her humanitarian approach saw her welcome more than a million refugees and migrants to Germany. She is not a Chief Executive but her leadership qualities are undeniable.

Bono

It may surprise many who only know him from U2, but Bono’s great leadership qualities are significant and have made a real impact in battling poverty. In 2004 Bono served as cofounder of the One Campaign, a non-profit organisation fighting against extreme poverty. Since then he has been at the forefront of the campaign’s efforts and his role as spokesperson has helped them raise a lot of money.

These, of course, are just three of the outstanding leaders – there are millions upon millions of good ones working in every sector and innovating every day.
